Gary Tarpinian and Paninee Theeranuntawat formed Morningstar Entertainment with the goal of producing high-quality non-fiction and alternative programming. They have adhered to that vision ever since they began production fifteen years ago. MorningStar received the coveted national Emmy Award for “Best Edited Sports Series” for their work on ESPN Classic’s “Sports Century & Beyond”. MorningStar’s medical reality series, “Chicago’s Lifeline,” received the highest possible honor from the American Medical Association and Time, Inc. The series was honored two years in a row with the coveted Freddy Award as “the Best Medical Reality Program on Television”.

The viewers of the National Geographic Channel International in the United Kingdom recently chose MorningStar’s highly rated ‘Secret Bible’ series as the ‘Best New Television Series’ on the network. MorningStar’s BattleGround – The Art of War’ recently produced the two highest rated programs in the history of the Discovery Military Channel: ‘Waterloo’ and ‘The Battle of the Bulge’.

MorningStar was further honored when their “Statue of Liberty – Building a Colossus” was nominated for the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award. It was called the “definitive program on the Statue of Liberty” by no less an authority than the Official Librarian of the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Monument. This award winning television program is now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Broadcasting.

Two of the highest rated programs in the history of the Discovery Health Channel are MorningStar’s acclaimed episodes of ‘Super Surgeries’: ‘The 200 Pound Tumor’ and ‘The 160 Pound Tumor’. MorningStar’s ‘forensic historical investigation’ – ‘Billy the Kid – Unmasked!’ was one of the highest rated ‘Westerns’ in the history of the Discovery Channel and the winner of the Accolade Award for Documentary Production.

MorningStar’s recent production of the highly acclaimed and highly rated ‘Egyptian Book of the Dead’ helped the History Channel achieve the highest rated month of August in network history..
